毎年1月〜3月は、4月からの就労開始を目指す留学生の在留資格変更申請が集中する時期です。この時期は出入国在留管理庁の審査が混み合うため、書類不足や申請の遅れがあると、希望する就労開始日までに結果が出ないことがあります。
・4月から働きたい場合の申請時期

・書類準備で特に注意するポイント
在留資格変更申請では、提出書類が一つでも不足すると審査が止まってしまうことがありますので、申請前には必ず提出書類一覧を確認し、希望する在留資格ごとの必要書類がすべて揃っているか確認しましょう。
【重要】「留学」の在留期限が1月31日以前の方へ
在留期限が1月31日以前で、2月以降も留学を続ける場合は、まず「留学」の在留期間更新の許可申請が必要です。この場合、12月1日〜1月末の期間に就労資格への変更申請は行わないよう注意してください。

For Those who are Planning to Change your Status of Residence (Visa) from “Student” to a Work Visa

Important Points Regarding Document Preparation
For an application to change your status of residence, even one missing document may cause the review process to stop or delay. Before applying, please check the list of required documents and confirm that all documents required for your intended work visa are fully prepared.
【Important】For Those Whose “Student” Status (Visa) Expires on or Before January 31
If your “Student” status of residence expires on or before January 31 and you will continue your studies in February or later, you must first apply for a period of stay extension for your student status.
In this case, please note that you should not apply to change to a work visa between December 1 and the end of January.
